Supply Chain Manager

The Kenya School of Government was established by the Kenya School of Government Act, 2012.

The mandate of the School is to provide training, consultancy and research services designed to  inform public policy, promote national development and standards of competence, and integrity in the Public Service.

The School is inviting applications from suitable candidates to fill the following position:


Supply Chain Manager 

Gross Salary Range: Ksh 148,982 - 171,515

Reporting to the Director Finance and Administration, the position holder will ensure effective and efficient procurement of goods, works and services for the School and Compliance with the Public Procurement & Disposal Act, 2005 and the Regulations 2006

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Secretary to tender committee
  • Supervision of procurement staff in the school
  • To oversee and Coordinate procurement of goods, works and Services in the school
  • Develop annual procurement plans for the School;
  • Coordinate and implement the school procurement plan
  • Provide leadership and advice in the procurement of goods, works and Services;
  • Obtain quotations and proposals from vendors;
  • Provide leadership for the various evaluation committees;
  • Issue Contracts, Local Purchase Order (LPOs) and Local Service Orders (LSOs);
  • Prepare tender and quotation documents in liaison with user departments and campuses;
  • Communicate to tenderers/bidders on outcome of the tender process;
  • Follow up on delivery of goods and services to ensure that quality procurement of goods and services is achieved and set timelines adhered to;
  • Maintain an up to date register of eligible suppliers of goods, works and Services for the school and campuses;
  • Facilitate annual stock taking and provide a report on the same;
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports; and
  • Manage, review staff performance and development
Qualification and Experience
  • Must be a holder of an MBA/MSc (Procurement)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Business, Commerce, or Economics or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Graduate Diploma from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Public Procurement & Disposal Act, 2005 and the Regulations, 2006.
  • Must be a member of KISM
  • Self-driven who can work without supervision
  • Five years’ of relevant experience in a large/busy organization
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be a person of high integrity
  • Possess strong leadership and negotiation skills

This vacancy is on permanent and pensionable terms. 

Pension is contributory (15% of basic salary by employer and 7.5% by employee).
