Human Resource Partner for an Insurance Company

Our client, an Insurance Company based in Nairobi, is seeking to hire a Human Resource Partner.

The successful candidates MUST have prior experience in Human Resource Management and Administration.

Responsibilities
Together with other departmental staff, responsible for development, implementation and review of HR Strategies, Policies and Procedures for the Organization so as to achieve efficiency and optimal application of the human resource

He/she will implement innovative strategies for timely acquisition of talent to support service delivery
Working closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
Recruiting staff - this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management.
Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
Undertaking regular salary reviews.
Administering payroll and maintaining employee records
Interpreting and advising on employment law
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource.
Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management
A Master`s degree in a relevant field.
Have served for a period of not less than five (5) years in a relevant senior management position preferably in the insurance industry.
A member Institute Of Human Resource Management (IHRM K)
Conversant with Kenyan Law practices and implementing HR policies.
Experience in fast growing organization.
Experience in insurance is an added advantage
Ability to work in a multi – cultural environment.
Prior experience in a tour and travel company will be an advantage.
Basic knowledge of accounting is a plus but not a necessity.
